There was a time in my life when songs (A Whole new world "Aladdin", Part of your world "Little Mermaid", When you wish upon a star "Pinocchio") meant something special to me. I guess that would have been when I was about six or seven years old, just several weeks or maybe a month before the College turned me into a different person.
In my early years of schooling, my teachers and classmates recognized me as a good singer and watercolorist. I participated to a lot of school activities that involved performing on stage. I was even asked by one of my school instructors to sing a worship song for a TV show. I used to spend time studying and researching everything I can about music and becoming a performer. I was not only honing my songwriting and guitar skills, but I was also trained to develop my total package including voice and stage presence. Being a singer wasn’t just a dream of mine; it was an objective that I aimed to achieve.
In 2007, I started to focus on my academic priorities, and continued to pursue my education in visual arts through UP Diliman College of Fine Arts; hence, I lost the ‘drive’ for singing. Indeed, UP Diliman provided me a rigorous educational environment, and with its kind of students, I managed to learn some important lessons about dealing with people. My mind was suddenly opened to experiences I never would have thought existed. I decided then that there were two kinds of people: those who had experienced life as it was handed to them, with one luxury after another, and those who worked for much of what they achieved, and thus placed a higher value on each of their accomplishments. UP Diliman became the central theme of my maturity stage. It was at UP that I found my best creative strengths and was given the tools to pursue them to the fullest extent possible. I was trained to be an advertising specialist. I had my internships at two of the country's renowned advertising agencies. Due to my centered education for the arts, I never had the chance to go back to my first love, singing.
My family has been very supportive of my efforts through the years. They have seen how hard it is to complete college. Through my parents’ involvement with my educational pursuits, I struggled to become proficient with my chosen field, so, I can support our future finances.
I am also a fashion enthusiast. Ever since I was young I had a fascination with fashion shows and their models wearing beautiful clothes. As a result, I entered fashion entrepreneurship through online selling. I cannot see myself ever giving up this obsession for fashion as it provides another way for me to show my creative and innovative side.
I can also see in the future where I will be taking time to reward my family for their support, possibly in the form a long vacation abroad. I believe that my future holds only what I put into it. I have worked hard to accomplish my educational goals from graduating high school to obtaining my degree as well as my responsibilities as a daughter.
